LTI-01 Quality First Test Systems & Automation Products LTI-01

Our most economical leak test instrument is a single channel pressure decay tester that operates on clean dry shop air. This unit is tailored for lower volume applications and utilizes a gage-pressure-decay test method. The part is allowed to stabilize after being pressurized. The decay/change in pressure is then measured over time.

LTI-05 Quality First Test Systems & Automation Products LTI-05

A single channel leak test system that operates on clean dry shop air to accurately test for product leaks. The LTI-05 displays corrected airflow readings through the use of a mass flow transducer. This state-of-the-art technology provides test results, which are independent of daily changes in barometric pressure and ambient temperature. This leak test instrument measures the leakage or flow of air through the part under test at a specific test pressure.

CI-2001 Quality First Test Systems & Automation Products CI-2001

Compact calibration device for air pressure & airflow transducers. It is quick and responsive and can accurately correct pressure and flow readings to current temperature conditions. Models include low flow pressure, low flow vacuum, high flow pressure, and high flow vacuum.

Lean Cell Test Systems Quality First Test Systems & Automation Products Lean Cell Test Systems This test stand's fixture is designed to allow easy loading and unloading of the part. The operator selects which type of part, using the seal 1/seal 2 selector switch, and places the part properly over the fixture pins. An Allen-Bradley programmable controller controls the machine. Acceptable parts are automatically unclamped and receive a part stamp. Rejected part must be manuall unclamped by using the unclamp and clamp common push buttons simultaneously.
Semi- Automatic Systems Quality First Test Systems & Automation Products Semi-Automatic Systems The Four Station Double-Tooled Dial test stand pictured above is one of Two (2) mirrored systems used to test Exhaust Gas Recirculating (EGR) Valves. Each system had four (4) stations with two (2) parts in each station. The operator would load two (2) parts to the fixtures at the load station and depress the start button. When the automatic stations completed their operations, the dial would index and take the parts from the load position and transfer them to the leak test station where an automatic seat leak and body leak test was performed. Upon completion of this cycle, the parts would then be transferred to the flow test station where the part was automatically “opened” and “closed while the flow was monitored and compared to the preset limits to check the hysterisis of the valve. Upon completion of this test, the parts were transferred to the unload station where the parts were automatically unloaded into the accept or reject conveyor.
Automatic Turnkey Quality First Test Systems & Automation Products Automatic Turnkey

This complete testing system was designed and manufactured by Quality First Systems, Inc. personnel. This system production tests in-tank fuel pumps at a rate of 1200 pumps per hour. This testing system incorporated an asynchronous line, four (4) three station testing machines and four (4) Adept robots to load and unload parts from the test fixture.

This entire system was designed to Class 1, Group D, Division 2 rating. The pumps ran a fuel solvent in place of gasoline.
If a part failed a test, the robot automatically placed the pump in the appropriate reject bin. There were (4) reject bins which corresponded to four (4) tests. Machine controls were handled with an Allen-Bradley PLC-5/15.

Two (2) operators were required at the end of the line to unload the accepted parts from the pallet for pack-out.

Mass Spectrometer Quality First Test Systems & Automation Products Mass Spectrometer

This two (2) station machine is called a Turbine Hub Weld Leak Test System. This mass spectrometer test system tests turbine hubs at a rate of 327 parts an hour. The hubs are metered into the test stand two (2) at a time from the existing line. Both the hubs are stopped at pre-stops on the transfer conveyor.

The pre-stop cylinder for station 1 is dropped and the hub is metered into station 1’s fixture where it is lifted up, the part type is detected, and the test begins. Station 2’s pre-stop cylinder is dropped and the next hub is metered into station 2’s fixture where it is lifted up, the part type is detected, and the test begins once testing at station 1 is complete. Once the test is finished at both stations the hubs are dropped down in their respective fixtures and both parts are metered out the back of the test stand on the transfer conveyor.

If the part is an accept, the accept pilotlight is illuminated and the hub is transferred on the conveyor to the next line. If the part is a reject, the reject pilotlight is illuminated and the hub is transferred on the conveyor to the reject part slide. The reject slide then moves over and positions the hub onto the reject conveyor. Once on the conveyor, the reject hub rolls down the reject roller conveyor to be eventually unloaded by the operator.
