Standard Torque Tools & Advanced Torque Systems
Advanced Torque Systems Sturtevant Richmont Advanced Torque Systems

Advanced Torque Systems are integrated error-proofing systems for torque application in assembly operations. These systems augment visual, audible and/or tactile operator communications with wired or wireless communication with your line controls. Line control communications range from those wired directly to a PLC through those that integrate wirelessly with both 24 VDC and Ethernet systems. Network cards in S/R controllers permit immediate integration with several Manufacturing Engineering Systems. There are usually one or more applications in every facility where the ROI of the system beats the ROI of using traditional tools. Follow the link to the left to see the full range of possibilities, and contact TTP to hear how our other customers have improved their process by implementing these systems.  We also have demo units available to test in your facility.

Torque Tester Calibration Equipment

Torque tester calibration is identical to torque tool calibration in its’ necessity, but of significantly greater technical difficulty in obtaining the required accuracy. Everything from the rigidity and stability of the mounting base to the distance from the center of the tester drive to the center of the cable of the weights used becomes critical for accuracy. Even the gravitational variation where the calibration testing is performed is important.

Go to our Torque Tester Calibration Equipment page to see the range of S/R offerings, and how we can help you obtain the accuracy critical to success.

Specialty and Support Products
Interchangeable Heads Sturtevant Richmont interchangeable Heads

Interchangeable Heads are the devices that engage either the fastener or the socket (or socket extension) for all S/R interchangeable head torque wrenches. All use the S/R dovetail connection for exceptional strength and rigidity. Included in this group are extensions for the heads and adapters that give the user the ability to make and to connect specialized heads when the need arises. Adapters for DIN-style and round-style heads are also available.

These work with Preset Interchangeable Head Clicker-Type Torque Wrenches, Micrometer Adjustable Interchangeable Head Clicker-Type Torque Wrenches, and most Hardwired and 2.4 GHz Preset Clicker-Type Torque Wrenches. A number of the Exacta 2, 1100-Series Exacta 2, and 3000-Series Exacta 2 Digital Torque Wrenches also use S/R Interchangeable Heads.

Crowfoot Adapter Sturtevant Richmont Crowfoot Adapter

There are times where you need the advantages of a flat beam torque wrench yet cannot use a socket on the fastener.

The answer is the Crowfoot Adapter. It allows you to use a variety of S/R interchangeable Heads with your flat beam torque wrench.

Mechanical Loaders Sturtevant Richmont Mechanical Loaders

Torque wrench calibration can be done by hand – more or less. Since distance is a key component in the calculation of “force times distance”, the maintenance of the correct distance during calibration is extremely important in obtaining accuracy. Since the human hand is about 4” wide, the “load point” where force is applied to the tool is a variable – a variable that works against, instead of for, you.

Well designed mechanical loaders eliminate that variable, as well as errors caused by applying force at other than a 90 degree angle. They also reduce operator fatigue and improve productivity.

Take a look at our Mechanical Loaders, and discover what a difference they can make!

Quad Plate  Sturtevant Richmont Quad Plate The Quad Plate enhances the efficiency of your System 4 or System 5 Digital Torque Tester when using an ML 250 Mechanical Loader. Up to four TT-Series Torque Transducers can be mounted to the plate, and rotated into position as needed.
Transducer Mounting Brackets  Sturtevant Richmont Transducer Mounting Bracket These “L” brackets are ideal for mounting TT and STT-P Series torque transducers to a workbench or cart.
Grip Extension Sturtevant Richmont Grip Extension The Grip Extension provides the ability to quickly add up to 7.5” of lever length to S/R preset torque wrenches of 3000 in. lb. capacity and below.
Handle Extension Sturtevant Richmont handle extension The Handle Tube Extension changes the length of S/R preset and adjustable torque wrenches of 600 ft. lb. capacity tools. It provides serious ergonomic advantage for higher torque application.
CART Tool  Sturtevant Richmont cart tool The Combination Adjusting and Release Tool is essential to setting the torque on all S/R torque wrenches using presetting. It fits and engages both the torque adjusting nut and the torque adjusting nut locknut, and does so either simultaneously or individually, as needed.
Torque Tool Manager Software Sturtevant Richmont Torque Tool Manager Software

Torque tool calibration requires attention to detail in every respect, and maintenance of records pertinent to all factors – as well as creating certificates of calibration for each calibrated item. When all of this can be automated the process becomes more efficient, less prone to error, and less costly to operate.

Torque Tool Manager, used with S/R digital torque testers, improves control and efficiency for almost all of the operations. Specifications and tester settings are stored in the software and downloaded to the tester exactly when needed. The technician is guided and supported by the software during the testing, and the results are captured, uploaded, stored and used to print the ceritificate when the testing is complete.

Switch Box  Sturtevant Richmont Switch Box The Switch Box enables up to four transducers to be electronically connected to your System 4 or System 5 Digital Torque Tester. Switching among them is as simple as turning a knob.
Rundown Fixtures Sturtevant Richmont Rundown Fixtures Testing clutch, stall or pulse tools requires that the tools be able to rotate at operating RPM before the torque output is actually tested. S/R Rundown Fixtures enable you to achieve that requirement, while emulating either a hard or medium joint. See how much they can improve your power tool testing.
Color Coding Shrink Sleeves Sturtevant Richmont Color Coding Shrink Sleeves Sometimes an answer is just KISS simple! Color coding sleeves keep your preset torque wrenches identified. Use a different color for each torque, and tell the operator which to use for what application. How simple!
Torque Multipliers  Sturtevant Richmont Torque Multipliers

When you need torque higher than your maximum direct reading torque wrench capacity, a torque multiplier is often the solution you need.

The torque multipliers multiply your input torque by about 4 times (model dependent) and output the torque on the other end.
